17-year-old India Lake recently released her debut single, “Girl in New York City.” Generating over 1,000,000 streams, Girl in New York City has introduced fans to India’s captivating voice, honest, self-reflective songwriting, and anthemic sound.
Growing up with parents who always had music playing in the house, India’s favorites included Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Neil Young, all of whom have influenced her journey as an artist. At seven years of age India began playing the ukulele, which coincided with her first efforts at singing and writing songs. At ten years old she started learning to play guitar, which quickly became her favorite instrument.
Now 17 and a senior in high school, India has released her debut single, begun performing live with her band, and written several more songs that will be released in 2019. Through her music she hopes to connect with and inspire fans in much the same way that her early influences connected with and inspired her.
